Makerspace Safety Induction

Ground up introduction to using and understanding equipment, tools, and methodologies. Learn how to safely and effectively use hand and power tools in everyday situations.

This is a three hour induction, teaching you how to safely operate our hand drills, drill press, bandsaw and other shop tools available. You will be creating a wooden tray to take home during this process. 

Shop Tools is for UNSW students, staff, alumni and affiliates. You must have a Z-ID so your induction can be recorded in accordance with UNSW WHS Processes.

The SWP and quiz must be completed before a booking can be made for the MakerSpace Safety Induction. 

Closed shoes must be worn.

Please arrive 10 minutes before, if you arrive late you will be asked to come back at another session. 

Our MakerSpace Safety induction is highly sought after and very limited. If you can not make the class, please make sure to cancel your registration so others can take your place.
